Gail Stancil Starling, 71, formerly of W. Wilson St., died on March 2, 2013 in New Bern, NC. Born in Johnston County on June 20, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Donnie and Mary Effie Woodard Stancil. Gail worked at Eaton Corporation for many years and was the church organist for Sharon Baptist Church in Smithfield for over 20 years.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday, March 7, 2013 in the chapel of Underwood Funeral Home, with Reverend Scott Gleason officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.

Surviving are: her daughter, Kimberly Dale Futh of New Bern; grandchildren, Ryan Andrew Futh, Sydney Margaret Futh, Stephanie Lauren Futh, all of New Bern; and her loving cat, Annie. Gail was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Rexford Starling, her brother, Linwood Donnie Stancil, and her sister, Joyce Stancil Barden.
