My goodness, it’s starting to feel like 1996 again around here. Friday night brings a solid all-local bill straight out of the Triangle’s mid-’90s alternative-country heyday to Carrboro’s Cat’s Cradle. Headlining are The Backsliders, still on the comeback trail and as rocked-up and spectacular as ever. Opening up will be John Howie’s Rosewood Bluff, classic honky-tonk from the former Two Dollar Pistols main man; and Michael Rank, whose latest album “In The Weeds” is another terrific conjuring of the Rolling Stones circa “Wild Horses.” The bands start up at 9 p.m. and cover is $10.
