— Police have charged a second man in connection with the shooting death of a 35-year-old man last spring in West Durham.

Marcus Devon Shareef, 24, of Durham was charged with murder and one felony count each of robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon and first-degree burglary, police announced Tuesday.

Investigators have accused Shareef and Kerry W. Graham Jr., 16, of Durham of killing Carl Anthony Pressley, who lived at 3307 Mordecai Street, near U.S. 15-501.

It was just before 2:30 p.m. on May 1 of last year when police responded to reports of a shooting in the 3300 block of Mordecai Street. When officers arrived, they found Pressley in his home with at least one gunshot wound. Emergency workers pronounced Pressley dead at the scene.

Police arrested Graham on May 10 after finding him at a Red Roof Inn off N.C. 55. Police charged him with first-degree murder and first degree burglary.
