Healthy competition
In a March 1 editorial, you stated that a voucher system would take away too much from public education. I agree that a strong public education system is a cornerstone to a healthy society, but it should be so strong and beneficial that it would not fear competition.
The wealthy families should not need the voucher to make true choices and may not qualify, but for the lower income it could mean the difference in a true choice.
Give parents the freedom to make these decisions that are best for their children. Let the parents and public educators work in harmony to make the best choices for the future leaders of our country.
