Mrs. Helen Craven Wheeler, 87, of North Augusta, SC, entered into heavenly rest Tuesday, March 5, 2013. Funeral services will be conducted at Posey Funeral Chapel, Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 2:00 pm. Interment will be in the Pineview Memorial Park. Mrs. Wheeler was a native of Durham, North Carolina. While in Durham, she was in service to the Lord at the Gospel Center. For the past 30 years, she made North Augusta her home. She was a member of the North Augusta Bible Chapel where she actively served in the Emmaus Prison Ministry. Mrs. Wheeler worked with her family at Nurseries Caroliniana, loved the outdoors and especially spending time with her family. Mrs. Wheeler was predeceased by her husband, Mr. Reuben Hart Wheeler. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Norman Sims, Pittsboro, NC, Susan and Gerald Stephens, North Augusta and Shirley and Arthur Pfleger, Dearborn, MI; a sister, Eula Mae Womble, of Texas; six grandchildren, Shelley Hamilton, Greg Sims, Kelley Erickson, Phillip Pfleger, Shuford Stephens and Nathanael Stephens; two great-grandchildren, Ashley Shelley and Blake Hamilton. Pallbearers will be Robby Hamilton, Thomas Erickson, Shuford Stephens, Nathanael Stephens, Alan Clayton, and Scott Shepherd. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, March 6, 2013, from 6:00-8:00 pm.
