Mrs. Chris Harris Waldrop, 94, died on March 4, 2013 in Bath.

A memorial service will be conducted on Sunday, March 10th at 2 p.m. in the chapel at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Greenville.

Chris was born on August 20, 1918 in Thomasville, TN. She graduated from Clarksville High School in Clarksville, TN and East Carolina Teachers College in Greenville. She taught for several years at Ayden High School and Bethel High School. She was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church where she served in many ways including the altar guild and Episcopal Church Women (ECW). She was a charter member of the Thalian Book Club.

She was married for 61 years to Ed Waldrop who predeceased her in 2004.

She is survived by a daughter, Edna Harris Waldrop of Greenville; a son, Joseph E. Waldrop, Jr. and wife, Kathie, of Bath; four grandchildren, Britta Edgerton, Michaela Conner, Michael Waldrop and Ashton Toler, and five great-grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 3 to 5 p.m. at Wilkerson Funeral Home.
