Away with wealth

In response to the March 3 editorial “Death and taxes,” is an estate tax really a tax? Or a taking? The state pays North Carolinians when it takes their land to build a new highway – irrespective of the net worth of the landowner. Heck, if those lucky, wealthy landowners have enough “windfall” property, why should the state not just take it? Those rich folks won’t miss their extra land. I’m sure you’ll be supporting that as well.
