Hazel Boyea Kabat, Age 93, formerly of Cary, died Feb. 17th in Lisle, IL. Born to William and Mary (Valley) Boyea in Ellenburg Center, NY, she married Thomas Rehak Kabat of Binghamton, NY in 1943. Residents of NC since 1966, Hazel and Tom attended St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Cary and after retirement from IBM, spent many happy hours at the Cary Senior Center. Tom predeceased Hazel in 1995.

She is survived by four children; Louise K. Trucano (Peter) of Downers Grove, IL; Lawrence B. Kabat (Linda) of Sparta, NC; Robert D. Kabat, of Raleigh and Kathryn S. Kabat of Cary, as well as four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Her funeral mass was celebrated at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Lisle, IL, and she will be interred at Calvary Cemetary in Johnson City, NY.
