Argenis Mendez knocked out Juan Carlos Salgado in the fourth round to win the IBF Junior Lightweight belt on Saturday night.
Mendez (21-2, 11 KOs) knocked the champion Salgado (26-2-1, 16 KOs) down with a right in the first round, then dropped him again in the fourth with a left hook to claim the belt.
This was a rematch of a September 2011 fight that saw Salgado win in a unanimous decision.
