Paying state employees
Jim Jenkins is a bit biased, don’t you think? After all, he is the child of parents who were employed by the state government (Feb. 28 column). No one I know suggests that state government workers aren’t uniformly hard-working types and dedicated to their jobs. That’s not at issue.
What is at issue is how we pay for all the government employees when the private economy is underperforming. The unemployment rate is 9 percent. The economy contracted severely and those losses have not been recouped. Where is the money coming from?
