John Davis Tant, 85, of 700 Old Zebulon Road passed away on March 12, 2013. He was born April 28, 1927 in Nash County to the late Samuel and Clora Tant. Davis served his country in the U.S, Navy and retired from Kemp Furniture in Wendell.

Funeral service 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2013 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel. Burial, Greenmount Cemetery, Wendell.

Surviving: sons, William Tant (Ann), Darnell Tant, Johnny Tant (Jo Ellen), Jamie Tant (Julie); daughters, Wanda Earl (Dave), Sheila Tant; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, J.B., Billy, Earl and Clyde Tant; sisters, Penny King, Marie Ray.

In addition to his parents, Davis was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Barham Tant, one sister and two brothers.

The family will receive relative and friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 14, 2013 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service and Crematory, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545 and other times at the home.
