John D. Bradshaw

John Duffey Bradshaw, 92, died Wednesday. A native of Johnston County he was son of Ruben Beckett & Violet Halstead Bradshaw. John was the owner of J.D. Bradshaw Paint and Body Shop. He also later owned Duffey’s where folks could come to dance. Mr. Bradshaw taught many people to dance. John was a artist & master woodworker. He lived an extraordinary life to its fullest. He was deacon at Corinth Baptist Church for over 50 years, and helped organize the first Wendell Rescue Squad. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in WWII. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of over 67 years Edna Smith Bradshaw, brothers; Wilbert and Bona.

He is survived by his daughter; Betty Lou Cornell (Clyde) of Zebulon, grandchildren; Greg Smith (Karen), Step grandson; Greg Cornell (Christy), great grandchildren; Luke & Rayleigh Smith, Mackenzie & Payton Cornell., special niece, Delores (Charles) & Morgan, special nephew, Lloyd (Di), and many other beloved family members.

Flowers welcomed or memorials may be made to Hospice of Wake County or Corinth Baptist Church.

Visitation, 10-11:30 am with funeral service 11:30 am, Saturday, Corinth Baptist Church. Burial, Gethsemane Memorial Gardens.
