Recca Hinton, 85, a lifetime resident of Raleigh passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2013, surrounded by her four loving daughters and devoted sister Page Champion.
Recca was predeceased by her parents, Rex and Nona Weathersby and her husband, Louis Hinton. She is survived by her cherished sister, Page Champion, her 4 daughters – Recca Nelson, Kaye Thurlow, Gail Pate and Joan Bailey; her 4 stepchildren, 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren 3 nieces and 1 nephew.
Upon graduating from Mary Elizabeth Nursing School, Recca began what would be her 30 year career in the office of Dr. Frank Camp. Recca found great joy in nursing. Her charm and enthusiasm were ever present as she cared for countless patients over her career. Recca was an avid collector of antiques, an unmatched southern cook and prepared in all circumstances to share her wisdom and opinion with others. In the later year of her life, Recca relished spending time at the beach with her children and grandchildren. Her one of a kind spirit and passion for life will be missed by those who knew her best.
