Charlene Reid Black, 83, of Cary passed away Friday, March 15, 2013, at her home in Cary.
A graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 17, 2013 at Rose Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Ed Jillson officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
Charlene was a daughter of the late George and Emma Baines Reid. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Raleigh, NC, was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and a volunteer worker for the Christian Community in Action for 37 years.
Mrs. Black is survived by husband, James Arthur Black of Cary, NC; daughters, Margaret Gail Scoggin of Rockwell, TX, Evelyn Black Wilson and husband, David of Columbia, SC; sister, Carolyn R. Elrod of Dayton, OH; and grandchildren, Reid Scoggin and Karl Scoggin.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Black was preceded in death by her sister, Betty R. Bradfield.
