Apex teen’s holiday plant sale benefits wounded troops

Delaney Brown

Delaney Brown of Apex raised $305 for the Wounded Warrior Project last year through her annual holiday poinsettia sale.

She began the tradition when she was part of Ultimate Air, a Junior Olympic gymnastics team in Greensboro, and has continued it on her own for the past four years. In 2012, the money she raised went to the Wounded Warrior Project, which supports servicemen and women who have been wounded in military conflicts. Previously her sales benefited the Raleigh Rescue Mission.

Delaney is a junior at Middle Creek High School in Apex.
