RALEIGH — Two people were killed in a head-on collision Sunday afternoon when another car crossed the center line and struck their car on Wade Avenue.

Raleigh police identified the victims as driver Ormond Jackson Bailey, 83, and passenger Gaynell Batton Bailey, 79, both of 3109 Hickory Road. They were headed east on Wade Avenue near Filmore Street when a westbound car driven by Ray Norman Rouse IV, 34, of 2527 Trout Stream Drive, Raleigh, struck their car head-on.

Rouse was charged with driving while impaired and traveling the wrong way. He was taken to WakeMed with injuries.
