GREENSBORO — Police closed Interstate 85 Business southbound from its merger with Interstate 40 on Tuesday because of an accident involving an overturned tractor-trailer truck, the state Department of Transportation said.

The road is not expected to open before 9 p.m. as crews work to get the truck upright again and clear debris, a DOT spokeswoman said.

She suggested I-40 west to U.S. 220 south to I-85 Business as a detour.
