Wake to hold community forums to discuss school superintendent qualities

Published: March 19, 2013

— Between Monday and March 27, the Wake County Public School System will be holding public discussions about the qualities people want to see in a new schools superintendent.

The search is being conducted by the McPherson and Jacobson firm, who will coordinate the three days of public discussion sessions as part of the nationwide search for the next superintendent of the 150,000-student system.

The firm is inviting various school and community groups, but all members of the public are asked to make comments at the sessions which most closely match their interests and concerns.

The school board hopes to have a list of candidates narrowed down to several finalists in early May, choosing a new superintendent by July 1.
