Joe Cephus “Joey” Shelton III, age 41, died early Tuesday morning in Raleigh. Born May 26, 1971 in Arlington, VA he was the son of Joe Cephus Shelton, Jr. of Wilmington, NC and the late Linda Carol Burton Shelton. Joey was an alumni and active member of The Healing Place of Wake County.

Surviving in addition to his father are his sons, Austin Shelton, and Jeremy Shelton; daughter, Miranda Shelton, all of Fredericksburg, VA; sisters, Angie Steigleman and husband Marlin of Clayton, NC, and Allison Evans and husband Dave of Selma, NC; and aunt, June Hanchulak of Colonial Heights, VA.
