Evelyn Shehdan Smith, age 84, of Orlando, FL, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 17, 2013 with her family and friends by her side. Evelyn was born on September 10, 1928 in Henderson, NC. She was the daughter of the late Beshara and Serina Shehdan. Evelyn was raised in Raleigh. She was preceded in death by her husband, N. Glenn “Jack” Smith, Jr. and also two brothers and four sisters.

Evelyn is survived by her son, Glenn and his wife, Lisa of Apopka, FL; brothers, Phillip (Alberta), Fred (Betty) both of Raleigh; and sister, Vicky Varner of Smithfield, NC; along with many nieces and nephews.

Evelyn was a loving and dedicated wife to husband Jack, and especially a loving mother to her son Glenn.

A service will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Antioch United Methodist Church in Roaring Gap, NC with Pastor Bob Waddell officiating.

There will be a viewing at the church from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by the service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
