Four local students spent a day off school last month volunteering with Project Sunshine at UNC Children’s Hospital in Chapel Hill.

Carew Bridges, Matt Wacenske and Michael Shulby, seniors at Cardinal Gibbons High School in Raleigh, and Raven McNulty, a student at The Chef’s Academy in Morrisville, helped children at Project Sunshine’s Triangle Chapter make mailboxes to hold Valentine’s Day cards from family, friends, doctors and nurses.

Project Sunshine is a nonprofit organization that provides free educational, recreational and social activities to children and families living with medical challenges.
