Cary boy sits in with symphony

March 24, 2013

Kevin Xu

Kevin Xu, a fifth-grader at Davis Drive Elementary School in Cary, has been named the first-place winner in the junior category (age 13 and younger) of this year’s Peter Perret Youth Talent Search.

The annual competition, hosted by the Winston-Salem Symphony, requires two rounds of live auditions. Kevin’s first-place win earned him a $250 cash prize and a spot onstage with the symphony at a community concert in Winston-Salem on March 16. Kevin performed Mozart’s Piano Concerto K.488.
