HARRISONBURG, Va. — Tarik Hislop scored 19 points and led four in double figures for James Madison in a 72-66 victory against N.C. State in the second round of the Women’s National Invitation Tournament on Sunday.
The loss ended the Wolfpack’s season at 17-17. Len’Nique Brown led the way with 13 points, and Markeisha Gatling and Myisha Goodwin-Coleman scored 12 each. Gatling also had a team-high nine rebounds.
Marissa Kastanek scored nine points in her final game with the Wolfpack. She finishes her career with 1,655 points and 240 3-pointers. Those figures rank eighth and second, respectively in school history.
Toia Giggetts added 16 points for the Dukes (24-10), Kirby Burkholder had 14 points and nine rebounds, and Angela Mickens scored 10.
N.C. State led 43-42 midway through the second half, but James Madison used an 18-4 run over a six-minute stretch that put the game out of reach.
