Police search for suspect in Durham shooting

— Police are investigating a shooting that happened Monday evening near the intersection of East Main Street and Alston Avenue.

Police officers were dispatched at 5:10 p.m. to a disturbance in the parking lot of Los Primos Supermarket, at 1109 East Main Street, before diverting to investigate a report of an adult male with a gunshot wound in the 600 block of East Main Street.

When officers arrived, they discovered a man suffering a serious gunshot wound and had him transported to a hospital for treatment. Investigators determined that the victim had been shot in the Los Primos parking lot.

Suspect in the shooting is an overweight black male last seen driving south from the supermarket in a red pickup truck. Police listed no additional identifying characteristics such as skin tone, hairstyle, facial hair, tattoos or scars.
