Wake deputies charge pair with theft of engines from Bunn Level garage

From staff reportsMarch 26, 2013

— Two men took eight engines and two engine blocks from a service garage, Wake County sheriff’s deputies charged in arrest warrants accusing the pair of breaking and entering and larceny.

Charles Alan Joyner, 38, and Kelvin Lawrence Mullins, 53, were arrested Tuesday after a deputy on patrol saw a truck that matched the description of one reported as possibly being used in the theft.

The deputy stopped the vehicle and saw engines in it, the sheriff’s office said.

A break-in at All Star Service Garage at Opportunity Lane and U.S. 401 had been reported earlier in the day, Capt. James Stevens said.

Arrest records were unclear about where the men lived.

Booking records for the Wake County Detection Center list Mullins as living at 15441 Hwy. 96 in Zebulon, though an arrest warrant had listed a Spring Hope address.

The records list Joyner’s address as 12770 E. Hanes Ave. in Middlesex in Nash County.

The arrest warrant has him living at 42 Tweety Lane, a Bunn Level address in Harnett County.

Each man was being held Wednesday in lieu of $10,000 bail each.
