Matchup to Watch

Mo Harkless vs. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist: Two teams in rebuilding mode have intriguing prospects at small forward.

Observations

• Both teams are coming off losses to the defending-champion Miami Heat.

• Bobcats coach Mike Dunlap developed Magic rookie Harkless last season as a St. John’s assistant.

The Bobcats can cliinch the season series with the Magic by winning Wednesday. There’s still some chance the Bobcats could overtake the Magic and avoid the worst record in the NBA for the second season in a row.

Tap-ins

Josh McRoberts sat out the Heat game with a shoulder strain he suffered against the Pistons on Saturday.

• The Magic has been playing without center Nikola Vucevic, who suffered a mild concussion.

Did you know?

Prior to this season, the Bobcats had lost 18 of their past 19 games to the Magic (including the 4-0 playoff sweep).
