Alice Clawson Wallace

Alice Clawson Wallace, of Independence Village in Raleigh, died on March 25, 2013, after a period of declining health.  She was born on December 15, 1918, in Cooleemee, Davie County, NC, to Herbert Christian and Daisy Ervin Clawson and spent most of her life in China Grove, NC.

She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Carl Allen Wallace, in 1999.  Survivors include her daughter Kay Wallace Bullock and son-in-law David Orren Bullock of Raleigh; her granddaughter Lee Bullock Schwentker and her husband Robert Andrew Schwentker and great-granddaughter Claire Bullock Schwentker of Arlington, VA; and her brother Wade H. Clawson and his wife Virginia A. Clawson of Salisbury.  She is also survived by her nephew Robert Barnard and his wife Emily (Weedie) of Wilmington, North Carolina and a number of extended family members.

A celebration of her life will be held at Independence Village in Raleigh on Thursday, March 28 at 3:00 pm.   A private graveside service will be held at a later date at West Lawn Cemetery in China Grove, NC.

Alice’s family wishes to thank the caring staff and volunteers of Hospice of Wake County as well as the staff and residents of Independence Village who provided her with friendship and support.
