Raleigh man seriously injured in hit-and-run crash

— Police are investigating a hit-and-run collision on Western Boulevard that left a Raleigh man hospitalized with serious injuries.

Raleigh police say Brian John Moore, 28, of Raleigh was riding a motor scooter traveling east on Western Boulevard about 10:30 p.m. Friday when he was struck from behind by a vehicle whose driver fled the scene.

Moore was transported to WakeMed for treatment of serious injuries, police said Saturday.

Witnesses described the car involved as a light-colored, newer-model, four-door sedan.

Raleigh police are asking that anyone with information regarding the incident contact police by calling (919) 834-HELP or by going to www.raleighcrimestoppers.org for instructions on how to report a tip online or by text message.
