Disney taps Cary teens with big dreams for program

March 31, 2013

Three Cary students were among 100 teens nationwide selected to attend the Disney Dreamers Academy earlier this month.

The annual four-day program, hosted by comedian Steve Harvey and Essence magazine, takes place at Disney World in Florida and offers career and educational exploration in a wide range of fields. Skills such as communication and networking are emphasized.

Participants were selected on the basis of essay questions they answered about their personal stories and dreams for the future. Selected from our area were Austin Morrel, who attends St. David’s School in Raleigh; Marcus Mobley, who attends Cary High School; and Mathama Bility, who attends Salem Academy in Winston-Salem. All are juniors who live in Cary.
