John "Jack" Paul Bartley

John (Jack) Paul Bartley, beloved brother, husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully on Sunday March 24 at Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville, VA surrounded by his children.

Jack was born in Philadelphia, PA in 1931 to James and Mary Bartley, where he attended West Catholic HS. After serving in the US Army during the Korean War, he returned to Philadelphia to attend St. Joseph's University. In Philadelphia he met his wife and love of his life the late Mildred (Millie) Kelly Bartley. Jack and Millie had 3 children and raised them in Springfield, VA, while Jack spent his career serving his country as a Systems Analyst working in the Pentagon for the Department of Defense. Jack and Millie retired to Crozet, VA where they spent their remaining years enjoying time with their children, grandchildren, close family and friends.

Jack is survived by his daughter Beth Ann Bartley of Ruckersville, VA, daughter Mary Bartley Sherman and her husband Tom of Crozet, VA, son Paul Bartley and his wife Ute of Cary, NC, his brothers Andrew (Jim) Bartley of Philadelphia, PA, David (Ron) Bartley of Cumberland, RI, Joseph (Joe) Bartley of Las Vegas, NV, and a number of nieces and nephews. Also survived by his 7 grandchildren that he adored; Ryan, Lena, Laura, Anna, Emma, Sydney, and Lisa.

A memorial services for Jack will be held on Saturday, April 6 at 1 pm at Thomas Jefferson Memorial Church, Charlottesville, VA.

In lieu of flowers the family requests you make a donation to Susan B. Komen for the Cure, the Martha Jefferson Hospital Foundation or a donation to your favorite charity in his name.
