Elizabeth "Beth" Manning Duncan of Oak Island passed away peacefully in her home on the morning of Tuesday, March 5, 2013. She was a member of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church of Southport.
Born in Durham on March 11, 1941, she was the daughter of the late John and Betsy Manning of Chapel Hill. Beth graduated from Chapel Hill High School and attended Converse College and University of North Carolina.
Beth had a very caring disposition that was evident in her love and devotion for her family, friends and pets.
She is preceded in death by her late husband, Marshall Edward Duncan, with whom she retired to Oak Island in 1997. Surviving are her three children: Elizabeth Harris Weil and her husband, Carlos Weil, of Brentwood, California; Bill Williamson and his wife, Christina Claridad, of Atlanta, Georgia; and Cynthia Manning Williamson and her husband, Matthew Ford, of Pittsboro; three grandchildren, Betsy Weil, Olivia Weil and Tobin Ford and her sister, Carol Walker, of Troy, Virginia.
A graveside interment service will be held at the Old Chapel Hill Cemetery on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 3:00 p.m.
