Joy Boyette: Cutting office no-brainer

Cutting office no-brainer

Give me a break! The March 29 article “McCrory cuts Latino office” attempts to stir up controversy and demonize the governor for making a common-sense decision. The report went on and on about the negative impact this cut would have on the Latino community.

I almost missed the part, buried three-quarters of the way through the piece, that implies the office has been staffed by a single volunteer (whose duties have been merged into another group).

Rather than bemoaning this as a loss, it should be recognized as an example of streamlining and making our state government more efficient.
