— The State Highway Patrol on Monday identified a N.C. Central University police employee as the second victim of a fatal head-on crash Saturday night on Old. N.C. 10.

Jurina Smith Vincent-Lee, 35, of Durham worked as a human resources and training liaison for the NCCU campus police department, according to the department’s website.

Trooper G.L. Ingram said that Vincent-Lee was driving 2007 Toyota Scion westbound on Old N.C. 10 near New Hope Church Road when she crossed the center line and hit an oncoming Ford Escort driven by Dixie Shively of Durham.

Both women died at the scene in the crash and a resulting fire, Ingram said. Investigators needed the help of the state medical examiner’s office to identify Vincent-Lee.
