From staff reportsApril 4, 2013

— Police are looking for two men in connection with an overnight shooting that killed a 24-year-old man at his apartment on Milburnie Road.

Travis Ramon Lucas, 24, died Thursday at WakeMed where he was taken after the shooting at about 12:45 a.m. It took place at 1900-101 Milburnie Road in the Washington Terrace apartments, near Mary E. Phillips High School and St. Augustine’s University, police said.

A woman who was in the apartment called 911 to say someone had broken in and that someone had been shot, according to a recording of the call released Thursday. Police have not disclosed a motive for the shooting, but said it had no relation to the university or the high school.

Police described the suspects as black men, one thin and about 6 foot 2 inches tall, and the other stocky and about 5 foot 9 inches.

The taller man wore a black hoodie, black skull cap and black pants, police said.

The shorter man was wearing a white or brown skull cap and a gray jacket, officers were told.
