More than 50 pounds of marijuana found in Raleigh apartment, police say

From staff reportsApril 4, 2013

— Police who went to an apartment on Crandon Lane, near Beaman Lake in North Raleigh, found more than 50 pounds of marijuana on Wednesday afternoon, they said in arrest warrants that charged two people who lived there with trafficking in the drug.

The warrants also charge Kameisha Ronique Evans, 20, and Max Deon Bridges, 23, with using the apartment at 3116 Crandon Lane to keep and sell marijuana.

Police did not give the exact amount of marijuana they said was in the apartment, instead citing a range of more than 50 and less than 200 pounds, which the law uses to determine the seriousness of the offense.

Bridges and Evans were each being held on $150,000 bail pending court appearances Thursday.

The apartment is in a two-family home that backs on a city-owned greenway that connects to Brentwood Park a few blocks west of Capital Boulevard.
