San Felipe Stakes winner Hear the Ghost will be withdrawn from Saturday's $750,000 Santa Anita Derby after coming up lame during a jog at Hollywood Park on Thursday.
The 5-2 second choice in the morning line, Hear the Ghost has an apparent knee problem that will sideline him during the Triple Crown.
Co-owned and trained by Jerry Hollendorfer, the chestnut gelding won the San Felipe last month by a half-length over even-money favorite Flashback. Hear the Ghost won his debut start in December and came in second at Santa Anita in the San Pedro Stakes on Jan. 21.
In three starts the gelding has banked $222,400.
