— The Durham Bulls started the 2013 campaign in style with an 11-2 drubbing of the Norfolk Tides on Friday night.

Eight of the Bulls’ 11 runs came in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings. Chris Archer picked up his first win of the season, recording five strikeouts in five innings.

Niuman Romero got a home run for the Tides in the loss, and Zach Clark picked up his first loss of the season.

The two teams will play a doubleheader Saturday in Norfolk starting at 6 p.m. due to Thursday’s rainout. The Bulls’ home opener is set for 6 p.m. Monday against the Gwinnett Braves.
