City Ballet dancers selected to attend, perform at festival

April 7, 2013

Several dancers from City Ballet in Raleigh participated in the UNC School of the Arts’ Festival of N.C. Dance in Winston-Salem.

The weekend festival offers classes in ballet, modern dance and other forms and encourages young dancers to meet and interact with each other.

Students participate in the festival by invitation, based on their age and abilities.

Ten City Ballet students were chosen to dance in “Kaleidoscopia,” a performance featuring music by the Beatles that closed the festival. They were Audra Chenoweth, Julie Cregger, Anna Laura Cromwell, Lauren Culver, Hannah Monroe, Gabby Nguyen, Nicola Paul, Emily Sikkel, Katy Schmitt and Rachel Stafford. Ally Levine and Aly Skiko were alternates. All are high school students from Wake County.
