Iva Lewis Johnson, age 86, of Clayton, passed away at her home on Friday, April 5, 2013. Born in Johnston County on July 10, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Lorenzo and Sarah Boykin Lewis. Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband Jack Johnson; her step-son Kermit Bissette; her step-daughter Shirley Bissette; four sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 7:00 PM in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma. The family will receive friends just prior to the service from 6 to 7 PM. A private burial will be held on Tuesday at Maplewood Cemetery in Clayton.
Surviving are her sons, Mallie Bissette and Barbara of Raleigh, Rowland Bissette of Raleigh; her daughters, Sarah Williams and Linwood Morris of Princeton, Faye Johnson and Warren of Raleigh, Pauline Johnson and Sammy of Clayton, Pam Burnett and Robert of Virginia; her sister, Esther Carter of Clayton; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
