GOLDSBORO — Duke seniors Tim Gornik and Adam Sumrall posted matching 2-under 70s (-2) Monday to move into a tie for first in The Trojan at Walnut Creek Country Club. The Duke golf tandem is a shot clear of Newberrys Dixon Walker.
Duke: Junior right-hander Robert Huber was named ACC pitcher of the week for the second time, after he threw his second consecutive shutout Sunday to lead the Blue Devils to a series-clinching, 3-0 win over Georgia Tech.
East Carolina: The Pirates added an away game against Gardner-Webb (Boiling Springs) to its 2013 schedule, which will be played on Tuesday, April 30 at 5 p.m.
The meeting will be the fourth between the schools, with the Pirates holding a 3-0 all-time record in the series.
Elon: First baseman/catcher Ryan Kinsella was named the Southern Conference player of the week after hitting .400 with three home runs and 12 RBIs in a series win over The Citadel.
North Carolina: Senior first baseman Cody Stubbs was named the ACC baseball player of the week after he went 12-for-24 (.500) at the plate and drove in 12 runs in pacing the top-ranked Tar Heels to a 5-1 week.
St. Augustines: Clarence Peace, who batted .600 on 6-for-10 hitting with a double and four RBIs in three games last week, was named CIAA offensive player of the week.
Meredith: Katie Burnet was named the USA South rookie of the week after totaling 15 points on 13 goals and two assists last week.
N.C. Central 7, N.C. A&T 0: The Eagles swept Mid-Eastern Athletic foe N.C. A&T while also tying the schools all-time season win record of 11 in Durham.

• Mick Mixon, The Voice of the Carolina Panthers will be the special guest speaker at RSCs annual banquet, Thursday at the North Ridge Country Club in Raleigh.
The club recently awarded Todd Worley, varsity boys and girls soccer coach at Sanderson High, its Coach/Mentor Distinguished Service Award, which comes with $1,000.
The club also awarded its four student-athlete scholarships ($2,000) to: Blake Williams (Wake Forest Rolesville, football), Devon Hathaway (Millbrook, swimming), Emily Bedsole (Ravenscroft, cross country, track and swimming), and Sarena Treish (Athens Drive, basketball).
