Raleigh man sentenced to prison for stealing gun

— A Raleigh man has been sentenced in federal court to 46 months in prison for breaking into a Wake County home and stealing items that included a .22 caliber revolver.

Gregory Keith Creary, 38, of pled guilty to possession of a stolen firearm and ammunition and aiding and abetting. His prison sentence will be followed by three years of supervised probation.

Creary’s case was part of the Project Safe Neighborhoods initiative which encourages federal, state, and local agencies to cooperate in a unified “team effort” against gun crime, targeting repeat offenders who continually plague their communities, according to a news release from the U.S. Department of Justice, Eastern District of North Carolina.
