RALEIGH — A man carrying a handgun held up a SunTrust branch at 4208 Pleasant Valley Road shortly after 9 a.m. Monday, then fled on foot, police said.
No one was reported to be hurt in the incident.
Witnesses told police that an armed, masked man walked into the bank and announced a robbery. The man left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash, police reported.
Uniformed officers searched the area where he was seen running, but no arrests have been made, authorities reported.
Witnesses told police the suspect is a black male with a dark skin tone. He appeared to be between 25 and 30 years old. He has a medium build and stands about 5 feet, 10 inches tall.
He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap, sunglasses, black bandana, a dark short-sleeved T-shirt over a long white one, dark trousers and dark shoes, police reported.
No other distinguishing characteristics such as hair style, facial hair, scars or tattoos were reported.
