WAKE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE

— Police on Monday charged a 35-year-old man with sexual exploitation of a minor, saying they found he had sexually explicit pictures of children on his computer in February.

An arrest warrant accuses Andrew Whitmore Campbell, of 202 Hyde Park Court in Cary, with 12 counts of second-degree sexual exploitation.

The warrant says police determined that he had the pictures on Feb. 19.

Cary police have a cyber crimes unit that aggressively pursues charges like those filed against Campbell.

Campbell, who was arrested about 6 p.m. Monday, was being held on $1 million bail pending a court appearance Tuesday.

Campbell told police he is a teacher at Wake Technical Community College, where officials said he is listed as an adjunct English instructor.
