Young musicians tapped for district band

Several students from The Ravenscroft School in Raleigh were chosen to participate in this year’s Central District All-District Band clinics and concerts.

Participating in the Middle School Concert Band was Robbie Deckelbaum on tuba and Zachary Murphy on french horn. Andrew Williams was chosen as first alternate for timpani. All are in eighth grade.

Junior Jessica Kittelberger was chosen for the grades 9-12 Symphonic Band on timpani and was named first alternate for snare drum. It was her fifth consecutive year being chosen for the All-District clinic. Sophomore Kyle Pelton was named first alternate on trombone in the Symphonic Band.

Sophomore Stephanie Wiehe on trumpet and freshman Cory Carr on oboe were chosen for the grades 9-10 Wind Ensemble. Cory placed second chair for oboe.
