Michael Herman Stephenson

Michael Herman Stephenson, age 58 died Monday afternoon in Duke-Raleigh Hospital. Born June 1, 1954 in Wayne County to the late Herman and Lillie Mae Hinnant Stephenson, he was a retired science teacher.

A memorial service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. A burial, with masonic rites, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday in the Princeton Cemetery.

Surviving are his wife of 33 years, Judy Sapp Stephenson; son, Michael Herman Stephenson, II and wife Mary Ashley and their son Mark of Camden; brothers, Tommy Stephenson and wife Karen of Winterville and Arthur Stephenson and wife Debbie of Smithfield and sister, Charlotte S. White of Siler City.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Duke-Raleigh Cancer Center, 3404 Wake Forest Road, Raleigh, NC 27609 or the Johnston County Beekeepers Association, c/o Mary Jones, 3655 Bay Valley Road, Kenly, NC 27542.
