Jean Armfield Hipps

Mrs. Jean Armfield Hipps, 80 died Sunday April 21, 2013 at Wesley Long Hospital.

Funeral Service will be held at Springfield Friends Meeting in High Point, NC at 2:00 p.m. Friday-April 26, 2013. The Rev. Ray Luther will be officiating.

Jean was born August 16, 1932 in High Point. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Raymond Hipps. She is survived by two daughters, Cathy Diane Hipps and Carol Julie Hipps; five grandsons, John Purvis, Chris Purvis, Michael Hipps, Matthew Hipps and Sam Hipps; and one great-grandson, Logan Purvis.

Jean grew up in High Point. She attended Women’s College, now UNC-G and graduated with a secretarial degree. She later met and married the love of her life, Jack. They moved to Greensboro in 1955, where she worked for Wimbish Insurance Agency for approximately thirty years. Jean retired and later became a faithful volunteer for Wesley Long Hospital and later Women’s Hospital. She was a lifelong member of Springfield Friends Meeting.

In life she was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. This beautiful lady truly will be missed.

The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 pm, Thursday evening at Forbis and Dick-Guilford Chapel, 5926 W. Friendly Ave, Greensboro, NC.
