Alan Falk: Behind the times

Behind the times

Reading about the responses to the Boston Marathon bombers, it occurred to me that the real problem regarding how to deal with them – military or civilian courts – may stem from our national legal system not adapting to the realities of terrorist tactics.

While the tactics and strategies of people who want to do damage to the U.S. have changed, in particular since 9/11, our entire legal system has not been reviewed or adjusted (or rebuilt) to handle these kinds of threats and actions.

If we’re still asking the “how or where to put them on trial” question after more than 12 years, something’s really wrong.
