NC State student reports sexual assault on campus

— N.C. State University police were searching Thursday morning for a man who a female student said pushed her into bushes near the Free Expression Tunnel and sexually assaulted her.

The assailant was described as black, about 20 to 25 years old, 5-foot-10, with short hair and wearing a black T-shirt with white lettering and blue jeans.

The student told police that the man ran north on campus after the attack.

The student called police at about 4:20 a.m.

Police did not disclose whether the student was injured in the attack.

In a crime alert on their website, campus police repeated their warning to students not to walk alone at night and to choose well-lit paths on campus.
