It’s no surprise that Rhonda Vincent, bluegrass music’s entertainer of the year and seven-time female vocalist, would appeal to fans within and beyond the bluegrass community. But when one of those fans is Bernie Taupin, the songwriting partner of Elton John, even non-’grassers should take notice. Along with Alison Krauss, Vincent is one of bluegrass music’s superstars, recording and touring with her ace band, the Rage. Vincent’s latest CD, “Sunday Mornin’ Singin’, ”was recorded live in a Methodist church and lifts the spirit with the Gospel’s good news of salvation. Friday night, Rhonda Vincent and the Rage bring their sacred and secular music to the Dunn Center for Performing Arts in Rocky Mount.
