Rob Bollinger: My right to vote

My right to vote

Regarding Senate Bill 668, which wants to deny the people adjudicated legally incompetent the right to vote: I am 23 years old. I have cerebral palsy. I vote. It is not fair to take away my right to vote because everyone has the right to vote.

My mom doesn’t tell me who to vote for. I decide, and sometimes I even vote for people she doesn’t like. Mom is my guardian to help me with money and health problems. I decide everything else for myself. I don’t live at home anymore. I live in a residential home with two housemates. We have people come in and help us with stuff, but we make our own decisions.

Why is the legislature taking my right to vote away?
